We lived in Milford, Iowa 37 years ago. We used to buy our meat at Forbes all the time and it was the best beef on the planet. I took a day trip from Minnesota today and thought I'd stop and grab some steaks for old time's sake. When I was in the store, no one offered to help me. I picked out steaks by myself and went to the register. The man working rang them up without as much as a hello, told me the price, took my card, put the receipt on the counter with a pen. No "sign please," "thank you" or "have a nice day." The total customer service amounted to be told the price. So rude! We haven't even eaten the steaks yet but I don't care if they're still the best on the planet, I don't plan on ever stopping there again.
My family has been buying steaks here for over 20 years and I just had my first negative experience. I bought about $300 worth or Medallions, Fillets, Chateaubriand, and a 9lb prime rib this last visit and half of my medallions and fillets were spoiled. Very foul smelling and color was off. I called and asked for a reimbursement or just some steaks to replace what I as the customer would say was spoiled and was treated very poorly and my request was promptly denied. Very disappointing given my lengthy history and loyalty to Forbes. Possibly lost a long time meat and spirits customer.

Best meat anywhere!!! Quality is outstanding flavor over the top!!! Great people and outstanding butcher. Their dried beef is legendary. I will be ordering more soon. Guess what I live in FLORIDA and still feel they are the best. Give them a try.
