The next afternoon we met Sonny Mistrel the owner. When I initially spoke to the front desk clerk we were told that the weekly rate was $350 plus taxes but the owner informed me that "this is a resort" and that the rate would be $490 plus tax as "I should be able to afford that with no problem".
I didn't even know that it had changed from The Shamrock Inn. However upon seeing the rooms and meeting the owner I could tell it had. This motel offers great affordable accomidations for families and individuals looking to enjoy the Great Lakes area without squeezing the wallet. Ample parking and no stairs makes packing and unpacking much more convient. A lot of care and hard work was put into the renovation since the change of ownership. I'm glad there is more affordable option to stay in the Lakes area without sacrificing comfort or accommodations.
It seems that during the off season (when we visted) the motel seems little more than a flop house for prostitutes and addicts.
He became angry then proceeded to charge us $85 per day when I told him we would only stay for two or three days.
The rooms and location were fine. But the workers charged me for things without telling me first. VERY IRRITATING
Couple that with the owners rude and deviant manner and you would be better to visit a chain and avoid this place entirely.
What an absolutely horrendous experience.
Returning from work after my first day my wife told me that she felt uncomfortable as she awoke from a nap to find the owner at the window peering at her.
We were delayed during our trip and contacted the night clerk to say we would arrive near midnight. When we arrived we had to wake a grizzly old man who checked us in.
I wish I could give this place a ZERO rating.
The following day we located another hotel and left this horrible place.
This motel was once a nice place for tourists to visit the local lakes but is run down and in need of a complete makeover or teardown to rebuild.
She also said that the owner became rude and scolded her when she went to the front desk for toilet paper as no housekeeping staff had bothered to clean the room during our stay.
My wife and I travel the country for my job and made the mistake of staying at this motel.
We like to frequent local hotels as we have seen many delightful locations and met many unique people in our travels.
Pay for what you get I know stripers stay here its the chippest motel in tbe lakes drug test strippers disease women.
This hotel is very basic. The rooms were fairly clean except there were some staining on them the continental breakfast is really just packages of little donuts and pastries. Several of the rooms are smoking and upon arrival we learned that the non-smoking room we had booked had been given to somebody else however the owner was able to figure it out and we did end up with a non-smoking room. All I know it was just okay but after a night on the town it was fine for a place to sleep for the night
Upon seeing the motel we decided to only pay for a couple days as initially were intending to stay for the entire three weeks of my project.
